Frequently asked questions & solutions
Use non-yellowing silicone emulsions without amine groups or with low amine content. Avoid cationic softeners with high unsaturation. Set temperature below 180 °C and shorten dwell time. Add optical brightener if needed.
Select non-ionic or anionic agents with affinity for both fibres. Use a two-step process: apply cationic softener for nylon first, then non-ionic softener for cotton. Check pH and electrolyte concentration.
Use block copolymer silicones with polyether side chains. Apply at 1.0–1.5 % owf with pH 5.5–6.5. For enhanced moisture transport, combine with a non-ionic wetting agent.
Cationic anti-static softeners with ethoxylated amine or quaternary ammonium compounds reduce surface resistivity. Apply 0.5–1.0 % owf in final rinse. Avoid anionic finishes that may neutralize the effect.

- Store at 5–35 °C in sealed containers; avoid freezing and direct sunlight.
- Stir gently before use; silicone emulsions may separate upon prolonged standing.
- Use stainless steel or plastic equipment; avoid galvanized surfaces with cationic products.
- Shelf life: 12 months for softeners, 8 months for silicone emulsions under recommended conditions.
